Advanced Core Exercises

There is a lot of misinformation that reaches the general public on training the torso or what has come to be known as the “core.” There are 29 pairs of muscles that function to brace, stabilize and move the spine, hip and pelvic area. You should be to able to activate these muscles in a manner that is productive to meet the demands of your activities of daily living. It is important to follow a progressive sequence of exercises with associated sets and repetitions in order to maximize results.

The following pictures are several movements that could be incorporated into a comprehensive core training program. Do not attempt any of these movements without consulting a qualified health care professional.
